Earlier in the week Gaijin Entertainment, the developer behind virtual reality (VR) compatible historical combat title War Thunder, released the 1.45 update for its videogame, bringing its Steel Generals expansion into Closed Beta. The update brings a whole host of new additions to the War Thunder experience, many of which can now be seen below in a set of brand new screenshots for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) compatible title.
Update 1.45’s main feature includes the addition of a new branch of almost 36 US tanks for players to drive. Six of these tanks arrived in this week’s update while others will be added over time as they’re tested in Closed Beta. A number of new aircraft were all added, as was a much more detailed damaging system. New of the new vehicles are on display in the screenshots, which also include two pieces of concept art.
Other additions to the new version include new maps, improved controls and even a tow cable to help out stuck tanks. VRFocus will continue to follow War Thunder‘s progress, reporting back with any further updates on it.
