There have been a number of virtual reality (VR) music projects revealed in 2014. These include the recent, numerous VR concerts starring the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, Jack White and Coldplay, as well as unique music videogames from high-profile developers such as Harmonix. VR music videos have also been popular, and this week sees the release of another such experience featuring a track from electronic musician Kris Menace.
Maxtrix Technologies has released this new experience, in which viewers can put on the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) and listen to the track ‘The Entirety Of Matter‘, enjoying a unique video for the song. A range of sequences are shown in the video, working in tandem with the song itself to complement its tune. For the best experience users should wear headphones and wear the Oculus Rift’s second development kit (DK2), although the first kit (DK1) can also be used.
The video can currently be downloaded for free over on the official Oculus VR Share Beta, where it is available on PC. It can also be found on both the iOS and Android mobile operating systems (OS) and viewed using a smartphone-based HMD. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all applications of VR, reporting back with any further updates.
