Independent developer Ana Ribeiro is ramping up the development of the highly anticipated Pixel Rift with the addition of a new team member, animator Stef Keegan. Following this expansion a selection of new screenshots has been made available to VRFocus.
Pixel Rift is a homage to videogames of yesteryear developed exclusively for virtual reality (VR). The title casts the player as a young girl taking her first steps into the world of videogames, working through the decades from the Intellivision through the Game Boy and onto the 3D era of the Nintendo 64. Throughout the journey the player will enjoy a single videogame series, ‘Pixel Rift’, playing as the digital heroine Pixel. However, things aren’t as simple as they may seem at first when Pixel leaves the digital world and enters our own.
Currently expected to launch in 2015, Pixel Rift is in development for PC and the Oculus Rift. Ribeiro has also expressed interest in Samsung’s Gear VR. The new screenshots taken from Pixel Rift follow below and VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on the videogame.
