While the end of 2014 will be about winding down for many videogame developers, some of which will have released some of the biggest titles of the past few months, Broken Window Studios likely won’t be able to rest too much. Grave, the developer’s upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible horror title, is set for release in early 2015. And with the team recently confirming a PlayStation 4 version to go alongside the Xbox One and Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) supported PC version, there’s no doubt plenty of work still to be done.
This week sees the arrival of four new screenshots for Grave, each one taken from gameplay. They showcase the contrast between day and night in the title’s desert setting, with players exploring their surroundings during the light hours and fending off monstrous enemies in the dark. These enemies can be defeated using light-based weapons, with weak sources such as matches keeping them at bay while stronger weapons can fully defeat them.
Despite confirmed a PlayStation 4 version, Broken Window Studios is yet to mention support for the Project Morpheus HMD in this version of Grave. Given its early 2015 release, it’s more than likely that the title will arrive ahead of Project Morpheus itself, though support could potentially be patched in later on. VRFocus will continue to follow Grave, reporting back with any further updates on its progress.
