Earlier this week indie developer The Dept of Silly Stuff launched a new Steam Greenlight campaign for its upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible flight-based videogame, Faceted Flight. The campaign is looking to secure enough positive votes to launch on Valve’s digital PC store early next year with full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). Now a new trailer for the experience has arrived, which can be seen below.
The brief clip offers a glimpse at Faceted Flight‘s colourful visuals as the player pilots one of the title’s aircraft. It showcases the same mode available from the videogame’s demo, titled Ring Attack, with players trying to fly through as many rings as possible in the given amount of time. The player controls the craft from a cockpit view, providing an immersive experience similar to the likes of EVE: Valkyrie and other VR flying experiences.
The Dept of Silly Stuff is looking to launch an Early Access version of Faceted Flight in the first quarter of 2015. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress, reporting back with any further updates on it.
