It’s now coming down to the last week of crowd-funding for indie developers Jon Hibbins and Nick Pittom’s Crystal Rift. The pair launched a Kickstarter effort back in November 2014 looking to raise some £4,000 GBP to aid development of the virtual reality (VR) compatible title. In its last week the developer hopes to secure the final 25% of that goal and perhaps some of the later stretch goals. As part of its final push, new images have been released from Crystal Rift‘s upcoming Alpha Demo 8.
Those images can now be seen below. The updated demo will feature new art as well as updated challenges among other additions, some of which can be seen in these five screenshots. Each is set in the dungeon environment that the title’s first act will be set in. One in particular showcases a treasure chest while another displays a fire pit that players will have to avoid if they have any hope of navigating through the labyrinth alive.
Crystal Rift is a first-person experience that features full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). Players move one step at a time on a grid, solving puzzles and overcoming obstacles. Should the crowd-funding campaign prove to be a success then the developer hopes to launch the full title in July 2014. VRFocus will continue to follow Crystal Rift‘s progress, reporting back with any further updates on the title.
