Today sees the release of Cool Christmas VR, a new virtual reality (VR) experience developed in conjunction with VR Covers, a professionally made protective cover designed for the Oculus Rift head-mounted displays (HMDs). Furthermore, the developers of Cool Christmas VR have made available a fully 3D model of the second iteration of the Oculus Rift development kit, DK2, available to download for others to use in their VR projects.
Cool Christmas VR has been built with a view to acting as a ‘virtual Christmas card’ from VR Covers to the VR community. Using the Oculus Rift DK2, players can experience a unique world of military might set in the not too distant future. Within this world users will have the opportunity to explore as well as get the inside track on how to use VR Covers with their own HMD.
Cool Christmas VR is available to download now, for free, via Mega. Additionally, VR Covers are offering the Oculus Rift DK2 model for download under CCO License in the public domain, which effectively makes the asset free to use in any projects you may be working on, available to download here. VRFocus will keep you updated with future releases from VR Covers and bring you more details on their product in the near future.
