Earlier in the week VRFocus reported on the reveal of a new update for virtual reality (VR) compatible historial combat title, War Thunder. The update, titled Steel Generals, brings with it a host of new updates and additions to the War Thunder experience, the most important of which being World War II-era tanks. Now a trailer for the update has arrived and can be seen below.
The trailer provides fans with a brief look at some of the tanks that will be invading War Thunder in the new update. Around 30 new vehicles will be added including the M2 Medium Tank, the M16 Halftrack, the M4A1(76) Sherman, the M41 Walker Bulldog and M103 Heavy Tank. Other changes will address the title’s spectator modes and live streaming options among other things.
The Steel Generals update is expected before the end of 2014, although a specific release date is yet to be announced. It will arrive on PC, where War Thunder supports the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) as well as PlayStation 4, where support for the Project Morpheus HMD is expected in the future. VRFocus will continue to follow War Thunder, reporting back with any further updates.
