The Project Morpheus exclusive Summer Lesson has had a turbulent time since it’s announcement. Originally revealed in September the title was scheduled to make it’s public debut at Tokyo Games Show. That reveal was cancelled as Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) stated that they may struggle to ‘keep up with demand’. However, a behind closed doors demonstration is taking place today.
Summer Lesson is a PlayStation 4 exclusive designed specifically for use with Project Morpheus. Created by Katsuhiro Harada, director of the most recent instalments in the Tekken franchise, Summer Lesson is a simple ‘communication’ experience. Presented with a young school girl, the player can interact with head gestures.
The reveal of the event came via Shuhei Yoshida, President of Worldwide Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment, who tweeted several images of the event as can be seen on this page. Yoshida himself is featured in the pictures below alongside Harada.
It’s not yet been revealed who has been invited to this showcase. It may simply be a press event to preview the title. However, given that Project Morpheus is still suggested to be merely a ‘potential’ product it seems strange that SCE would be allowing press to preview the title before a launch has been solidified. VRFocus will continue to follow this story and update you with any further information on the event.
