Earlier this week an update for Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 smartphone provided a glimpse at the potential launch line-up for the company’s Gear VR smartphone-based head-mounted display (HMD). Among the various titles was Playhead from Innerspace VR, a music-based experience revealed exclusively for Gear VR shortly after announcement the device itself. Now the developer has released a new trailer for the experience, which can be seen below.
The trailer starts of quiet before surprising viewers by leading them through a musical montage of some of the environments that they will visit in Playhead. Though Innerspace VR hasn’t shared too many details on Playhead just yet, it has said that the title will allow players to strip down songs to individual notes and rebuild them. Changing songs will also edit the environment around the player, creating a unique experience for everyone.
Innerspace VR will also be bringing The Cave to Gear VR, though it’s not clear if this title will also be available from launch. As it stands, the device is set to launch with a free store only, suggesting that the developer might simply be offering a demo experience of Playhead before launching a full version. Gear VR will hit the US in early December 2014.
VRFocus will continue to follow Playhead, reporting back with any further updates.
