The development of Narcosis, a virtual reality (VR) exclusive horror title set beneath the depth of the Pacific Ocean, has been in the public eye for some time. The latest reveal from the team however, is unrelated to the development of the videogame; but rather the naming of the studio itself.
It was back in March of this year when the team behind the videogame, now known as Honor Code, Inc., suggested that it would make it’s debut at the 2014 Game Developer’s Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, California, and VRFocus has been following the title ever since. Narcosis is a survival story in which, stranded at the bottom of the ocean after an accident, an industrial diver takes desperate steps to surface before his oxygen – and sanity – give out.
Narcosis began as a project at ENJMIN, a prestigious videogame school in Angouleme, France. The experience was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Student Competition category at the 2013 Independent Games Festival and has since grabbed the attention of the VR community with impressive playable outings.
Narcosis is scheduled for release Q3 2015, exclusively for VR devices. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on Narcosis and any other forthcoming VR projects from Honor Code, Inc.
