Virtual reality (VR) fans will find plenty to enjoy at the upcoming GameCity festival in Nottingham, UK at the end of this month. As VRFocus has reported, a handful of VR compatible videogames will be on display at the week-long event, including the likes of Pixel Rift, Smash Hit Plunder, Glitchspace and Esper. But these aren’t the only exhibits VR fans should look forward to; a talk hosted by digital software company 5 Lamps Media’s Ben Wager will also be taking place.
Wager will host a presentation on ‘Choosing Appropriate Human Interface Technology for Virtual Reality’. It’s not quite clear exactly when the session will take place as it shows up in the festival’s line up but not its schedule. As 5 Lamps Media’s Head of Software Development, Wager is bound to have some interesting views on what has been a popular discussion within the VR community as the search for a definitive means of input continues.
GameCity itself takes place from 25th October 2014 – 1st November 2014 and celebrates a range of interactive entertainment. The Oculus Rift PC head-mounted display (HMD) and Samsung’s Gear VR smartphone-based HMD should both feature at the show given the mix of VR compatible titles, although this is yet to be confirmed for the latter. VRFocus will continue to follow the event, reporting back with any more VR-specific updates.
