Earlier this week VRFocus reported that upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible title Pixel Rift would be on display at this year’s GameCity event in Nottingham, UK. It turns out that the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) supported title won’t be the only VR experience on display at the festival; indie developer Triangular Pixels will also be bringing its anticipated Oculus Rift and Gear VR experience Smash Hit Plunder for attendees to sample.
Smash Hit Plunder is a first-person experience in which players find themselves in a dungeon. The aim of the experience is to destory almost anything in sight, gathering loot from everything that they smash. The title is designed ‘from the ground up’ for Gear VR but will also be coming to PC with Oculus Rift support. It was one of the first exeperiences to be announced for Gear VR when the device itself was shown off in September 2014.
GameCity is a videogame festival that celebrates a diverse range of interactive art, running across all of Nottingham. It takes place on 25th October to 1st November 2014. Both Smash Hit Plunder and Pixel Rift will be featured in the event’s open arcade section. VRFocus will continue to follow any VR-related developments from the festival as well as the progress of Smash Hit Plunder moving towards its launch, reporting back with any further updates.
