The Sewer Released for Oculus Rift

The Oculus VR Share Beta is the official software portal for virtual reality (VR) experiences. Despite being handled by Oculus VR itself, the rules for appearing on the service appear to be lenient, with developers often providing little information on their creations. This is true of The Sewer, a VR new experience from indie developer Winspy that recently launched on the service with full support for the Oculus Rift head-mouted display’s (HMD) second development kit (DK2).

The Sewer‘s description simply notes that: “You are in the sewer. You must find way out!” The title appears to be a first-person experience in which players scoure a maze-like sewer. One image of the title interestingly shows players in what appears to be a run dwon operating theatre of sorts, tied to a bed with lights shining on them. The developer hasn’t spoken on what this means in terms of story or how it might effect the title’s gameplay.

Oculus VR intends to transform its software portal into the more presentable Oculus Home in the near future. It’s not clear what this will mean for experiences such as this. For now, The Sewer can be downloaded for free on PC. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all applications of VR, reporting back with any further updates on their development.
