VRFocus has already reported on some of the virtual reality (VR) related events taking place at this year’s PAX Australia from 31st October – 2nd November. A number of VR-related sessions are to make the show a worthwhile event for enthusiasts, and that’s without even mentioning some of the VR compatible videogames that will be on display. Today it’s been confirmed that upcoming sci-fi racing title Radial-G will be on display at the show.
Sam Watts of Radial-G developer Tammeka Games confirmed as much in a recent Twitter post. Watts explained that Radial-G would be on display at the show, which takes place in Melbourne, though sadly the developer itself won’t be attending. He later explained that the title would be showing at the Evocca College booth, numbered 1016, opposite a booth for Cards Against Humanity. Attendees will be able to play the title for themselves.
Radial-G is a racing experience in which players compete on tube-like tracks using the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). It failed a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign earlier in 2014 although recently confirmed that it had secured other means to funding. The title is now expected to see its first full release before the end of the year with a pre-release version launching before then. Specific dates for either launch are yet to be confirmed.
Future plans for Radial-G involve additional platforms alongside PC such as PlayStation 4 with support for the Project Morpheus HMD. VRFocus will continue to follow the title as it heads towards launch, reporting back with any further updates on its progress.
