Indie developer Tammeka Games seems to be on track with the development of its upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible sci-fi racing title, Radial-G. Despite missing out on Kickstarter crowd-funding earlier in 2014, the developer has secured funding to continue working on the title and even release it before the year’s end. In the run up to that release the developer will be taking Radial-G to a number of events over October and November on top of the PAX Australia event this weekend.
First up Radial-G will be exhibiting at another two events this week. The first is Paris Games Week from 29th October – 2nd November in Paris, France. The title can be found at the Asus stand during the event. Tammeka Games itself will also be showing off their racing experience at the TEDxBrighton event at their own stand on 31st October in the Brighton Dome, UK. The title will showcase its brand of VR-powered 360 degree racing at both shows.
Looking ahead, Radial-G will again be on display in the developer’s hometown of Brighton at the regular Brighton VR Meetup. A specific date and venue for the latest event is yet to be set, although the developer has teased that it will reveal something ‘special’ at the event to make the Radial-G experience even more immersive. The developer hasn’t revealed any more details, although more information about the Brighton VR Meetup is expected to be revealed this week.
The news is expected to tie-in with the upcoming Steam Early Access version of Radial-G, which is yet to receive a date. Both the early and full versions of the title will feature full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). Tammeka Games shared new screenshots of Radial-G this past weekend, showcasing a new environment for the title. VRFocus will continue to follow the videogame’s development, reporting back with any further updates.
