Earlier in the week VRFocus reported on the launch of a new virtual reality (VR) experience named Heavy Walker from Aliens, Trolls and Dragons developer Kubold. The videogame, which is fully compatible with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) and its second development kit (DK2), was released for free on PC. Now it has arrived on the official Oculus VR Share portal, where it can again be downloaded at no cost.
Heavy Walker is a short experience that utilises the Razer Hydra motion controllers in letting players command a mech from a first-person perspective. Players are free to experiment with an array of options within the mech’s cockpit, firing missiles and other weapons as they charge through the scenery. The title has no objectives other than to simple enjoy commanding the vehicle. For those without a Hydra, the Xbox 360 gamepad can also be used.
The title marks a small release for the developer in the build up to Aliens, Trolls and Dragons, which will be releasing episodically. VRFocus will continue to follow Kubold’s progress on the title, keeping you up to date with the latest.
