The third version of the Beta for upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible space simulation title Elite: Dangerous is fast approaching as Frontier Developments prepares to ship the full experience later in the year. With Beta 2 still going strong, the developer has encouraged players to send in some of their best screenshots taken directly from the title so far. A range of these shots from the past week can now be seen below.
As showcased on Frontier Development’s Twitter feed, players have been showcasing Elite: Dangerous‘ impressive visual fidelity with a steady stream of images. They often show the title in its best light, revealing dramatic scenery that pilots have discovered in the depths of space and action screenshots that promise great things for its combat.
It’s currently not clear when the full version of Elite: Dangerous will launch. When it does release it will feature full support for the Oculus Rift VR head-mounted display (HMD). VRFocus will continue to follow the title in the build up to launch, reporting back with any further updates.
