2014’s GameCity festival in Nottingham, UK is shaping up nicely for virtual reality (VR) fans. Last week VRFocus reported that Pixel Rift, Smash Hit Plunder and Glitchspace would all be appearing at the event. Now it’s been confirmed that, following last weekend’s Play Expo in Manchester, Coatsink Software will also be bringing its VR puzzle title, Esper on Samsung’s Gear VR smartphone-based head-mounted display (HMD).
GameCity takes place on 25th October – 1st November and aims to celebrate a wide range of digital arts. While the festival itself is spread across the city, an open arcade will provide attendees with the chance to use the Oculus Rift HMD with the aforementioned experiences, although will also host the Gear VR for Esper, running on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
Esper sets players in an alternative 1975 and casts them as a citizen undergoing a government testing programme known as ESPR. Players solve a series of puzzles designed to train citizens in using telekinetic abilities. Puzzles becoming increasingly harder as the experience progresses and the room morphs and changes to accomodate new challenges. It’s not quite clear when the title will launch just yet.
VRFocus will continue to follow Esper‘s progress, reporting back with any further updates.
