Indie developer VR Bits is currently busy promoting its Kickstarter campaign for the upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible space combat title, Darkfield. The crowd-funding push seems to be going smoothly, with over half of its $10,000 AUD goal achieved and over two weeks left to raise the rest. Recently the developer provided a new look at the title and its own brand of cooperative action, which can now be seen below.
The minute-long clip feautres new gameplay from Darkfield as VR Bits’ Mark explains how players will need to work together to overcome missions. As the developer describes, players will have the chance to pick a number of different types of ships when tackling missions, each one possessing vital perks. In one example level, a heavily guarded space station is defeated using one ship’s EMP device to overtake shields while another blasts a whole in it using a nuclear weapon. A smaller craft can then navigate inside the space station to blow it up.
Darkfield‘s Kickstarter campaign is set to come to an end on 27th October 2014. Those interested can currently pledge $15 to secure an Early Access copy of the title when it releases in June 2015. VRFocus will continue to follow Darkfield as it progresses, reporting back with any further updates.
