Indie developer Kubold is certainly proving its passion for virtual reality (VR) of late. Following the release of an impressive short VR experience named Malfunction, the developer jumped into its first full title, a third-person action experience named Aliens, Trolls and Dragons. While the development of the latter remains ongoing Kubold has this week revealed and launched another brand new project for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD), Heavy Walker.
Avaliable for free over on the developer’s official website, Heavy Walker is another brief demo in which players can control a mech suit, exploring the various weapons and actions that can be executed from its control panel. As the trailer below shows, the experience is designed to work with the Razer Hydra motion controllers with the Oculus Rift’s second development kit (DK2), although can also be played using an Xbox 360 gamepad.
As for Aliens, Trolls and Dragons, VRFocus spoke to Kubold’s Jakub Kisiel about the project earlier in the year, where he revealed that it will be released episodically and ‘as soon as possible’. VRFocus will continue to follow the developer’s work and bring you all the latest updates on it.
