Developers are currently flocking to announce support for the Gear VR virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) from Samsung, announced today at the Samsung Unpacked 2014 event in Berlin, Beijing and New York. The Assembly developer nDreams is not different, and has revealed not one but two new titles heading towards the device. Those titles are Gunner and Perfect Beach.
A trailer for Gunner can be seen below. The title is described as an ‘intense space combat experience’ and is co-published by Oculus VR itself. The title is based on a controller-free gameplay style, casting players as a Gunner. Players simply use the Gear VR’s head-tracking systems to look at enemy ships and shoot them down. The title will be nDreams first VR title and released later in the year.
Meanwhile, Perfect Beach is a relaxation experience in which players simply sit on a beach and enjoy a picturesque environment. “Perfect Beach was a great opportunity to create a different type of experience that only VR allows. In this day and age we are constantly contactable 24 hours a day, we therefore wanted to produce something that gave you time to de-stress unwind and forget about your stressful day, and we believe we have this with Perfect Beach”, said Patrick O’Luanaigh, CEO of nDreams.
Perfect Beach is also planned for release on Gear VR later this year. Plenty more information on the device and its supported titles is expect to hit throughout the course of the day. Keep it locked to VRFocus for more.
