It’s now nearing a full day since the reveal of Samsung’s smartphone-based virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD), Gear VR, and yet developers are still coming forward to pledge support for the device and announced new videogames for it. Now Current Circus, the team behind the musical underwater VR experience Muse has confirmed that it is working on a new launch title for Gear VR, based on its upcoming Oculus Rift title.
Current Circus revealed as much to VRFocus, explaining that the unannounced experience would fit within the Muse project, but not be a straight up port of that title, specifically labeling it as a ‘different game/experience’. Muse itself is currently available in an Alpha development stage, with fans purchasing access and then contributing towards the full release by supplying feedback on the title and more.
Muse lets players explore underwater environments with a musical theme, interacting with wildlife and more to create an organic soundtrack as players progress. It isn’t the only aquatic VR title headed to Gear VR in some fashion; first-person exploration title Ocean Rift has also been confirmed for a release on the HMD. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all projects for Gear VR, reporting back with all the latest.
