As indie developer Ghost Machine has previously promised, this week sees the launch of its new virtual reality (VR) compatible racing title, MotorSport Revolution on Early Access. The experience has today left its previously available alpha state and launched via Steam’s Early Access program with full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). The title is available for £14.99 GBP and is also compatible with standard monitors.
MotorSport Revolution is a single-player racing experience featuring over 20 different vehicles, though only 11 of these will be available in this version. There are also ten different tracks from countries across the globe such as Canada, Brazil and Belgium. Players will have the chance to race across a number of different modes using either the first or second development kits (DK1 or DK2) for the Oculus Rift.
Ghost Machine intends to keep MotorSport Revolution in Early Access until a release date for the consumer version of the Oculus Rift or other compatible HMDs has been announced. During this time, the community will play a key role in the development of the title, reporting on bugs and more as well as suggesting additional cars and tracks for inclusion. A Gear VR version of the title is also in development. VRFocus will continue to follow MotorSport Revolution going forward, reporting back with any further updates.
