Last week saw the release of a new Kickstarter backer demo for indie developer Broken Window Studios’ Grave. The demo, available on PC, Mac and Linux, offers a brief look at new environments from the title, as well as new enemy type and other features of the virtual reality (VR) compatible videogame. Now a new gameplay video of the title has been revealed, showcasing new gameplay.
The video, which can be seen over on Grave‘s Kickstarter page, includes a minute of fresh gameplay taken from the title. It shows the player struggling against on the title’s horrific enemies as they’re caught seemingly in a rocky canyon at night. Grave‘s brand of opponents must be defeated or, at the very least, kept at bay using light sources such as matches, which can be seen being used here.
It also features a look at the title’s ‘revamped scares’, which the developer goes on to talk about, stating: “I don’t want to reveal too much, but I can say that the interaction with light are becoming a lot more refined. Darkness now represents ever-present danger, meaning that creatures are an ever-present, inescapable danger until you can find our create a source of light. This is something that we’ve been experimenting quite a lot with, but we’ve listened to your feedback and we’re looking forward to letting you explore the new possibilities in the game. The environment is playing a much larger role and the creatures are way more shocking. Plus, we have a few surprises up our sleeves…”
Grave is due for release on PC, Mac and Linux with full support for the Oculus Rift VR head-mounted display (HMD) in Q1 2015. An Xbox One version is also expected around the same time. VRFocus will continue to follow the title going forward, reporting back with any further updates.
