Last week saw the launch of a Steam Greenlight campaign for an amusing new virtual reality (VR) compatible puzzle title named Nebulous. Indie developer Namazu Studios hopes to secure enough positive votes through the service to have it sold on Valve’s digital PC store come full release, where it will support the Oculus Rift VR head-mounted display (HMD). Now the first images of Nebulous have arrived, and can be seen below.
Nebulous is a unique puzzle title in which an astronaut is sucked through a wormhole and must find a way through a range of maze-like levels. As the four screenshots show, this is done by the player arranging objects in the level so that the astronaut can be dropped and bounched in the director of the exit wormhole. Objects include the likes of conveyour belts and trampolines, ensuring the astronaut has an uncomfortable ride to the exit.
The full version of Nebulous will be compatible with both standard monitors and the Oculus Rift. The latter uses head-tracking to help players arrange the placement of objects, meaning the title can be played without a controller. The experience will featured at least 40 different levels. VRFocus will continue to follow Nebulous going forward, reporting back with any further updates on the title’s development.
