A number of interesting new virtual reality (VR) experiences have made themselves known this week with an update to Oculus VR’s free software sharing portal. Oculus VR Share. Among them is Faceted Flight, a new flight simulation title from indie developer The Dept of Silly Stuff. The title has launched a full demo over on the official Oculus VR site as the developer continues to work on the full project moving towards a proper release.
Faceted Flight sits players in the cockpit of a Hover Jet and tasks them with racing through different environments. The demo features three different areas with a Ring Attack mode in which players must fly through as many rings as possible before a timer runs out. The title boasts a unique colorful art style that evokes older videogames. It features full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display’s (HMD) second development kit (DK2).
The demo is currently avilable to download on PC. The developer encourages those interested in the project to head to its official website to find out more. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all applications of VR, reporting back with any further updates.
