Earlier this week it was revealed that anticipated upcoming virtual reality (VR) horror title Dreadhalls would be coming to Samsung’s newly-announced Gear VR smartphone-based VR head-mounted display (HMD). Indie developer White Door Games was in fact one of the first to reveal that it was working on Gear VR as well as the already-known Oculus Rift version. Now a range of screenshots from the mobile edition of the title have arrived.
Three new screenshots of Dreadhalls can be seen, showcasing the title’s procedurally-developed environments running on Gear VR. The title sees players trying to escape a maze-like complex as they are hunted by monsters, with the layout or the area changing every time the player dies. The developer has explained that some features on the Gear VR version will differ to the Oculus Rift one, but the experience will remain largely the same.
It’s not yet clear if Dreadhalls will launch with the release of the Gear VR itself in mid-October or later down the line. VRFocus will continue to follow the project moving forward, reporting back with any further updates on its development.
