A new virtual reality (VR) compatible horror videogame has released today. Following a short delay, Doorways: The Underworld from indie developer Saibot Studios has been released onto Steam with full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD), though it isn’t clear whcih version of the two development kits (DK1 and DK2) the experience currently supports. The title is currently available for £6.29 GBP on PC, Mac and Linux.
Doorways: The Underworld is the third entry in the Doorways series. Players are cast as Thomas Foster, an agent of the Doorways organisation that hints depraved criminals through the use of psychic powers. The third chapter of the series sees Foster hunt for a missing psychopath known as The Surgeon. Players solve puzzles and fight to survival in search for the target as Foster himself begins to question his own psyche.
The title features the voice acting talents of Sam A. Mowry, best known for his work in Amnesia: The Dark Descent. VRFocus will continue to follow Doorways: The Underworld going forward, reporting back with any further updates on its development.
