SUPERHOT is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated titles coming to the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) in the coming months. But with its release still far off and the Oculus Rift’s second development kit (DK2) now shipping on a widespread scale, VR fans may be looking for something to tide them over in the bullet-dodging genre until that title arrives. Bullet Evasion could be the fix needed.
Developed by soyliquid, Bullet Evasion simply does as the title states, asking users to avoid incoming bullets for as long as possible. The title users the Oculus Rift DK2’s positional tracking to allow users to actually move their heads out of the way of incoming attacks. Players stand in a simple corridor and try to survive, with three difficulty options dictating just how tough the challenge is.
Bullet Evasion is currently available over on the official Oculus VR Share Beta on PC for free. There currently isn’t any word on possible Mac or Linux versions of the title. The experience also now features an online scoreboard for players to compete over. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all applications of VR, reporting back with any further updates.
