Yet another virtual reality (VR) developer has confirmed that it is working on Samsung’s newly-announced Gear VR smartphone-based head-mounted display (HMD). This time it’s Asunder: Earthbound developer Aldin Dynamics that has announced support for the device. The team, which is based in Iceland, doesn’t have a new videogame to reveal for the device just yet, but has said that it will be announcing one in the near future.
“Extremely excited to finally disclose that we’ve been working on #GearVR and a new title announcement is coming soon!” the developer posted on Twitter today. It sounds like this title could be not only revealed soon but actually released too. While there aren’t any details on the project just yet, you can familiarize yourself with the developer’s story-based work by picking up Asunder: Earthbound, first-person adventure title set onboard an airplane in the 1930’s.
Gear VR is expected to release in mid-October 2014 as an Innovator Edition designed for developers and early adopters. A range of developers have pledged support for the device since its announcement, either confirming work on it or announcing full titles for it. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all news surrounding both Aldin Dynamics’ work going forward, reporting back with any further updates.
