Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) have been rather coy about Project Morpheus since it’s unveiling at the Game Developers Conference (GDC), San Francisco, in March of this year, however that hasn’t stopped them from showcasing new software at every opportunity. The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) brought with it Street Luge and Jurassic Encounter while Gamescom offered a first taste of Gaijin Entertainment’s War Thunder, proving that there’s still plenty going on behind the scenes.
Simon Benson, Director of SCE’s Worldwide Studios Immersive Technology Group, spoke with VRFocus about the introduction of Project Morpheus to the development community and the overwhelmingly positive response his team received. Furthermore, he discusses the fact that the developers at the helm of Project Morpheus are an international team based all over the globe, and as such the progressive hardware design has been one of communal benefit as opposed to developing for just one continent. This and more is discussed in the interview below and VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on SCE’s Project Morpheus.
