Upcoming sci-fi horror title Caffeine has only seen its supported platforms grow throughout 2014. Starting life as just a PC title, developer Dylan Browne later confirmed that he would be adding support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) to the title. Following that, a PlayStation 4 version of the title was confirmed. Could that console’s Project Morpheus VR HMD also be added to the list of devices?
“It is a possibility as UE4 also has built in support for Morpheus,” Browne told VRFocus when asked about Project Morpheus support in an interview that will be published in full later this week, “so it could support it but that has not been decided yet.”
Caffeine is set on a caffeine mining facility in space. Players are cast as a young boy, exploring the abandoned environment and uncovering clues as to what has transpired. The title will feature environment-based puzzles and threats and players progress through the story.
Browne is currently running an IndieGoGo campaign for Caffeine, hoping to raise $5,000 USD to fund development. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress going forward, reporting back with any further updates.
