Since its reveal in March 2014, Sony Computer Entertainment’s (SCE) Project Morpheus virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) for PlayStation 4 has been shown off with a range of technical demonstrations and a handful of full videogames. Now SCE has revealed its line up for the HMD at this year’s Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. Many of the titles seen before will be on display at the first public showcase for the HMD.
The list includes the usual tech demos such as SCE London Studio’s The Deep and Street Luge. The latter appears to be a new build of the videogame, which has played travelling downhill at high speeds, dodging traffic to perfect times. Scores will be display on a monitor at the booth. The Castle, a PlayStation Move motion controller-focused piece will also be playable at the booth.
CCP Games’ anticipated space combat title EVE: Valkyrie will also be available with a new build. Overall this forms a line up similar to that of E3 2014 for Project Morpheus, albeit with some titles further along in development than they were before. SCE Europe hosted its annual Gamescom press conference at the show yesterday. While Project Morpheus was name-checked during the talk, no new titles or details were revealed about the device. VRFocus will be bringing you all the VR news from Gamescom this week, so check back for more later on.
