This week saw Mindfield Games announce a brand new virtual reality (VR) compatible exploration videogame in Pollen, a PC title due in 2015 with support for the Oculus Rift VR head-mounted display (HMD). While the developer is keeping much of the sci-fi title’s story hidden at this point in time, it has released the first teaser trailer, dropping more questions as to just what will happen in the experience. The trailer can currently be seen below.
The footage, which runs at just over a minute and 40 seconds, is comprised of a mix of in-game footage and real-time video. Following the flight of a bee, which itself calls back to the logo for the Pollen as well as its name, the trailer shows off a wide range of the environments we can expect to see in the title, from the underground caverns of Titan, the largest moon orbiting Saturn in which the title is set, as well as the mysterious station M facility.
Though it doesn’t offer much in the way of answers, the trailer offers an intriguing first look at this story-driven title, which we hope to be seeing more of soon. VRFocus will continue to follow Pollen going forward, reporting back with any further updates on its development.
