Perturbia Releases First Issue of Digital Comic

Those that have looked at the Twitter account for the upcoming virtual reality (VR) horror videogame Perturbia will have noticed that developer Imaginary Game Studios states that franchise is a ‘multimedia-sensory concept’. Up until now it hasn’t been revealed where Perturbia will be heading outside of videogames but the developer has today revealed a new comic based on the title.

The first issue of the series, titled Perturbia Wake Up! is available for free here. The brief story serves as a prequel to the videogame itself, following protagonist and photographer Tommy’s life before he ends up in the game’s abandoned building setting, desperately searching for an escape. The videogame will take inspiration from the likes of Silent Hill and Alone in the Dark. It’s not yet clear when the next issue of the comic might be released.

Perturbia was revealed earlier this week and is currently running a Steam Greenlight campaign to be sold on Valve’s digital store. If all goes to plan then the developer hopes to release the title in the fourth quarter of 2015 with full support for the Oculus Rift VR head-mounted display (HMD). VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s development going forward, reporting back with any further updates on its progress.
