This week sees the annual Gamescom event take place in Cologne, Germany. The biggest names in the videogame industry have gathered under one roof to talk about their upcoming titles and make new announcements, and Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) creator Oculus VR will be counted among them. The company’s Gamescom line up has now been revealed, with titles playable on the show floor.
Much of the line up resembles what Oculus VR debuted at this year’s E3 in June. That includes upcoming third-person platform videogame Lucky’s Tale, which is developed by Playful Corp and published by Oculus VR itself. Also available is SUPERHOT, the time-stopping first-person shooter (FPS) that saw great success with a Kickstarter campaign ahead of its showing at Oculus VR’s stand at E3. Both titles will be playable with the Oculus Rift’s second development kit (DK2).
Also on the booth is Oculus Rift mainstay EVE: Valkyrie and World of Diving from Veritgo Games, marking one of its first appearances with the company.
Yesterday saw SUPERHOT announced for Microsoft’s Xbox One console. It will be arriving on the system the same time as it will on PC, Mac and Linux, which is expected to be in June 2015. New screenshots of the title also arrived to celebrate its support. Furthermore, Playful Corp also launched Creativerse, its other title also due to receive support for the Oculus Rift. VRFocus is at Cologne this week to bring you all the latest on VR videogames.
