NM4 Vultus Experience Hits Oculus Share

Back in June 2014 VRFocus reported on a unique virtual reality (VR) experience showing at London’s MCM Comic Con. Creative company Visual Voice was exhibiting an Oculus Rift virtual reality head-mounted display (HMD) experience in which players sat on Honda’s NM4 Vultus motorbike in real life and sped through a neo-urban environment in an experience being shown inside the HMD. Now that experience can be sampled by everyone.

Visual Voice has released its NM4 Vultus demo onto the official Oculus VR Share Beta for free on PC. Players can simply tour the environment built by the developers, using the first version of the Oculus Rift’s development kit (DK1). The experience was designed to give users a taste of riding the bike itself in the kind of setting that inspired its design.

The Oculus Rift has been seen in plenty of other similar adveritising campaigns. At San Diego Comic Con 2014 (SDCC) the device was used for original experiences adveritisng movies and TV shows. Expect the device’s use as a marketing tool to only grow as we move towards the eventual consumer release of the technology. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all applications of VR, reporting back with all the latest.
