Yesterday saw Sony Computer Entertainment host its first Game Developers Conference (GDC) Europe 2014 talk on virtual reality (VR), talking about optimising videogame engines for VR experiences. The talk contained a lot of new information about developing for the Project Morpheus VR head-mounted display (HMD), but the company isn’t done talking VR just yet.
Today sees SCE’s other VR session, ‘Rebooting Game Design for Virtual Reality’ take place. SCE Senior Game Designer Jed Ashforth will be talking about rethinking existing design assumptions, VR’s potential and new areas that the technology opens up for videogame designers. It gets underway at 10:00am CEST and VRFocus is live blogging the talk below.
