Indie developer Tale of Tales is set to close its Kickstarter campaign for its upcoming first-person exploration title Sunset as a huge success later on today. The title has more than doubled its initial goal of $25,000 USD, which will help the team bring the title to PC, Mac and Linux in March 2015 with support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset also possible, though still unconfirmed at this time. To celebrate, the developer has released a new story-focused teaser trailer which can be seen below.
The trailer, which lasts just over a minute, gives players a brief rundown of Sunset’s unique plot, in which American tourist Angela Burnes is left stranded in the ficitional city of Anchuria, South America in 1972. Burnes is refused passage out of South America in the wake of a military coup, eventually finding work as a housekeeper for Gabriel Ortega. Angela soon discovers a plot against notorious dictator Generalísimo Ricardo Miraflores as she works in Ortega’s house.
Sunset will allow players to control their role in the title’s events somewhat. Angela will be able to interact with Ortega, responding to and leaving notes around the apartment as she works. The title is story-driven and will not feature any type of combat or puzzle-solving. The end of the trailer gives players a brief glimpse of the apartment that the title is set in.
Those interested still have a small amount of time to pledge to Sunset before its campaign closes. VRFocus will continue to follow Sunset, bringing word on its Oculus Rift integration as soon as we hear it.
