Last week’s San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2014 played host to the reveal of a range of new virtual reality (VR) experiences, primarily based off of movies and TV shows. 20th Century Fox made a big push with the technology, showcasing an X-Men VR experience as well as one based off of its Sleepy Hollow TV show. Now a trailer for the latter has been posted online, which can be seen below.
The trailer includes an interview with Tom Mison, one of the show’s stars, as well as footage from the experience and the impressions of a few of the SDCC 2014 attendees that sampled it. As the footage shows, players are given a message from Mison’s character, protagonist Ichabod Crane, before coming into contact with the Headless Horseman. As the video reveals, the experience was used with the Oculus Rift VR head-mounted displays (HMD) first development kit (DK1) as opposed to the recently-launched second (DK2).
It’s not clear if the Sleepy Hollow VR experience will be seen again beyond SDCC 2014. Like other experiences for the event, it seems to have been specifically designed for the show. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all applications of VR, reporting back with any updates on new releases and more.
