Indie developer Nick Pittom has ended the Kickstarter campaign for his upcoming virtual reality (VR) videogame, RedOfPaw’s Big Crazy Stupid VR Adventure and American Pie, in success. The developer raised £3,200 GBP with the help of 322 backers in order to help fund Pittom’s trip to the Oculus Connect event in Hollywood, California on 19th – 20th September 2014 and develop an interactive experience based on said trip for backers to experience. The project will come with support for the Oculus Rift VR head-mounted display (HMD).
The funding also managed to surpass a £2,700 stretch goal, meaning the developer will be making a video diary of the trip. A sample demo of the experience is available now for both the Oculus Rift’s first and second development kits (DK1 + DK2). The full experience will be created with input from Kickstarter backers themselves, who can submit designs and ideas to feature.
Pittom is aiming to release RedOfPaw’s Big Crazy Stupid VR Adventure and American Pie in January 2015. The developer also recently released his entire catalogue of work with support for the Oculus Rift DK2. VRFocus will continue to follow the developer’s progress going forward, reporting back with any further updates.
