Indie developer Red of Paw has been hard at work offering fans a taste of what’s to come from his RedOfPaw’s Big Crazy Stupid VR Adventure and American Pie videogame, which is set to be based on the developer’s visit to the upcoming Oculus Connect event in Hollywood, California on 19th – 20th September 2014. Today marks another milestone for the project as the developer releases a demo experience for it, which can be downloaded now.
The demo offers players a taste of what’s intended to be a surreal experience. Though the videogame will be based off of Red of Paw’s trip to Oculus Connect, the developer has pledged to develop the title with the support and ideas of his fans, assuring that all sorts of bizarre events will unfold as players progress. The current version works with the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display’s (HMD) first development kit (DK1), with a DK2 version planned for when the corresponding software development kit (SDK) arrives. New screenshots from the experience can be seen below, showing some easter eggs based on the developer’s past work among other aspects.
It arrives a short while after RedOfPaw’s Big Crazy Stupid VR Adventure and American Pie videogame successfully achieved its Kickstarter funding goal of £1,700 GBP. The campaign currently has four days left until its 28th July closure, with the developer hoping to also reach some additional targets to create a video diary of the event and more. VRFocus will continue to follow Red of Paw’s progress going forward, reporting back with any more updates.
