Tammeka Games is still pushing on its Kickstarter campaign for the upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible sci-fi racing title, Radial-G. The campaign is approaching its halfway point in reaching its funding goal of £50,000 GBP, with nine days left before its closure. The developer itself has said that it still has a long way to go if it is to reach its goal within the amount of time left. That said, the campaign is set to benefit from some wide exposure at a major NASCAR event in the USA this weekend.
Tammeka Games has revealed to VRFocus that it is set to advertise Radial-G at the Brickyard 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup on 24th – 27th July 2014. The title will receive a 15-second advert, showing off in-game footage followed by a push for the Kickstarter campaign. The advert will be shown four times every hour across a three different screens located around the NASCAR circuit on each day of the event.
The developer had hoped to attend the event themselves, but time restraints meant that this wasn’t possible. That said, this could serve to provide a good boost for Radial-G‘s Kickstarter. If the campaign proves to be a success then the title hopes to launch a multiplayer demo on PC, Mac and Linux in November 2014, with the first main release following after that. The team also hopes to bring the title to PlayStation 4 with support for the Project Morpheus VR headset.
VRFocus will continue to follow any and all news surrounding Radial-G, reporting back with the latest.
