Sony Computer Entertainment’s (SCE) Project Morpheus virtual reality (VR) headset for PlayStation 4 is set to receive another showcase next week. The device will be available with hands-on time at the Develop Conference in Brighton on 9th – 10th July 2014. The kit will be available for attendees to sample of the Expo floor at the event. A range of talks and sessions focused on VR will also be taking place during the conference.
In particular, a Project Morpheus dedicated session will talk about techniques for developing on the headset. The talk is titled ‘Developing for Project Morpheus’ and takes place on Thursday 10th July at 16:00 BST. Not only that, but David Ranyard of SCE London, the developer behind The Deep and Street Luge tech demos for Project Morpheus, will also be hosting a session on the technology as will The Assembly developer nDreams’ Patrick O’Luanaigh.
Several SCE figureheads will also be at Develop, incloduing President and CEO Andrew House and PlayStation 4 lead system architecht Mark Cerny, who will deliver the keynote speech on Wednesday 9th July. Other sessions from those developing titles for the Oculus Rift on PC will also be available, as will Oculus Rift demos using the device’s second development kit (DK2), such as the recently-confirmed newer build of Kite & Lightning’s Senza Peso.
