Plants Vs. Zombies 2 Producer Moves to Oculus VR

Oculus VR has built a reputation for snapping-up talent wherever they can of late. The latest hire, following Jason Rubin and Jason Holtman last month, is PopCap Games’ Bernard Yee.

Yee helmed Plants Vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time at PopCap Games, following high profile roles on Sony Online’s EverQuest series and even Bungie’s forthcoming Destiny. Yee’s will take on the role of Product Manager at Oculus VR’s Seattle offices.

“The team in Seattle is very talented,” Yee said in an interview with GamesBeat. Speaking of Valve’s virtual reality (VR) tech, Yee offered: “I was really blown away by the level of emotional reaction I had to the demo. The virtual reality technology was immersive and made you feel present in a way that games have never done.”

Oculus VR is ramping up it’s organisation for the eventual release of a consumer version of the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). No specific release date or price for the device has yet been announced but VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details.
