Oculus VR Announces Oculus Connect Developer Conference
Over the past year Oculus VR has been showcasing its Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset at a range of industry events. The company has made apperances and announcements at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Game Developers Conference (GDC), and E3 2014, and is currently preparing for a Gamescom showing in Germany in August 2014. Today brings a surprise, however, as the VR specialist has announced its very own event: Oclus Connect.
Taking place in the Loews Hotel in Hollywood, California on 19th – 20th Septmber 2014, Oculus Connect is a developer conference that gathers, engineers, designers and creatives from around the world working in VR. The company has promised that attendees will be the first to learn about ‘upcoming Oculus technology’, and will host a range of sessions froms its own engineers and industry pioneers. Developers will be able to recieve feedback from the Oculus team itself during the event.
Keynote speeches will also be delivered from Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe, founder and Oculus Rift designer Palmer Luckey, chief technology office John Carmack, and chief scitentist and former Valve developer Michael Abrash. The event will be open to the public though space will be limited and the keynote talks will be livestreamed around the world.
Hopeful attendees will be able to apply for a space at the event starting from 10th July 2014 on Oculus VR’s Oculus Connect webpage. VRFocus will continue to follow the event and report back with any more updates.
