Wales Interactive’s sci-fi first-person free running title, Infinity Runner, is set to launch on PC, Mac and Linux later on today. It is set to release after a short delay from its original June 2014 date. Arriving ahead of that launch is a new trailer for the title, which can be seen below. The footage takes a look at Infinity Runner‘s support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset, with plenty of gameplay found within.
The trailer lasts just over a minute and a half, showing a player actually using the Oculus Rift with the title. Infinity Runner casts players as a prisoner escaping a large ship that has come under attack by a werewolf. As the footage shows, players use free running mechanics similar to Mirror’s Edge, as well as engaging in combat and even transforming into a monster themselves.
The title is also planned for launch on PlayStation 4, with the developer hoping to also include support for the Project Morpheus VR headset on the platform. VRFocus will be bringing you a full review of Infinity Runner later on today, and will report back with any more news and updates about the title.
