Elite: Dangerous is currently in its ‘Premium Beta’ phase, with a number of players putting the upcoming space combat title through its paces. Creator Frontier Developments is now working hard to bring the anticipated virtual reality (VR) compatible title to the next stage of its beta, and has recently shared some of the progress it has been making in the form of a brand new video taken from the title.
The clip, which is posted below, grants a 30 second look at one of the solar flares that can be seen in the title. It is essentially a sun that fizzles away in the distance as players take part in dog fights. It’s certainly an impressive showcase of Elite: Dangerous‘ visuals, and offers a taste of what players can expect from the next phase of the beta, titled Beta 1, which will be launching on 29th July 2014.
Elite: Dangerous will be launching with full support for the Oculus Rift VR headset on PC and Mac. The full title is expected to release later this year, thought a more specific date is yet to be announced. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress, and will be bringing you more coverage of Elite: Dangerous in the near future.
