Earlier this week VRFocus reported that Breakout Studio’s upcoming massively multiplayer role-playing (MMORPG) videogame, Life of Rome, would be launching with support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset. A first look at how that support will fit into the title has now arrived in the form of two new VR screenshots supplied to VRFocus. These first in-game Oculus Rift screenshots can be seen below.
Life of Rome is set in ancient Rome, with players choosing between Roman and Barbarian factions at the start of the title. The experience uses both first and thrid person camera perspectives, though these two screenshots are both taken from the first-person perspective that will likely be better suited for Oculus Rift users. The first shows the player staring at their body with a spear in-hand, while the second shows a small rurual environment.
The title will let players set their own agendas for factions to pursue, with the developer hoping that players will spark inter-faction conflicts on top of the main Roman vs Barbarian struggle. It’s not yet clear when Life of Rome might launch. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress going forward and will report back with any more updates on its development.
